Phoenix Surreal
Being far away from Mexico City, the place I was born and raised, the city of Phoenix has been my home for the last 25 years, it’s where I live, and create, my numerous friends have become my family.
Even that the desert appears on my paintings as a desolated place, Phoenix is a city full of life that constantly keeps changing.
Although Mexico City has a long and rich history, Phoenix’ iconic buildings remind me some, to my city capitol where I grew up, or at least I try to find a familiarity in my mind. I always say, if I was removed from Phoenix for a while, and dropped off by the Westward Ho building, I would know where I am, back home.
